Saving The Forests- Chinese Arbor Day
March 12 marks the China's Arbor Day (The Tree Planting Day), which is a day to encourage people to plant trees. This day was founded by famous Chinese forestry scientist Ling Daoyang in 1915, and it was moved to March 12 in 1929 to commemorate Sun Yat-sen, a politician who did much to promote forestry during his life. Since then, Arbor Day has been a day to encourage tree planting in China.
Trees are silent friends to humans, as it makes its contributions silently. Trees can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen to ease climate change. It also cleans the air and cools the city. Besides, trees also provide humans with food and wood. It is an extremely important part of the ecosystem.
But human impacts have already caused the loss of around 40% of the world’s forests. And today, he size of a football pitch is still being destroyed every second. Protecting and restoring forests has never been more urgent.
To use bamboo as wood is a good method to protect forest, so applying bamboo as construction materials is more energy conservation and environment protection. Bamboo is considered as the fastest growing woody plant on earth. A 60’ft height tree needs 60 years to recover, but one bamboo requires 59 days only. After being cut, bamboo re-sprouts and grows again.
Bamboo has the compressive strength of concrete and the tensile strength of steel. Now bamboo is widely used as green alternative material to wood in the construction and interior decoration. REBO bamboo is one of the teams to focus on bamboo products only, whose main products include bamboo decking, bamboo wall cladding, bamboo flooring, bamboo horse stable planks, bamboo fencing, bamboo ceiling, bamboo panels, etc.
REBO will always take the mission of advancing the global environmental protection process and reducing ecological resource consumption.
