Do you really know bamboo?
Bamboo is actually a member of the grass family, rather than wood. It grows incredibly fast, with one to four inches per day, and ready for harvest within five years, which is a plant with fastest growing rate in the world.
China ranks world's first on the bamboo resources and yield. Moso bamboo, also called Mao bamboo or phyllostachys pubescen, is a species which with the most superior quality and highest utility value, and among 90% of which located in China, distributed mainly in Fujian, Zhejiang, Hunan and Jiangxi province.
Well known as "green gold", bamboo resources is also called " the world second largest forest". It absorbs 2x more carbon dioxide than trees, which is why they are known to act as carbon sinks. It also generates a vast amount of oxygen, totaling up to 30% more than most plants and trees. As today with global warming and wood shortage, bamboo makes a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions and deforestation.
Due to this high regeneration rate and its ability to sequester high amounts of CO2, bamboo is widely perceived as an attractive green alternative to other materials used in the building and architecture settings. It is an excellent solution for exterior building and decoration, such as terraces decking, wall cladding/siding, fencing etc. The most robust and popular type you will most commonly see in the outdoor flooring market is strand woven bamboo.
Strand woven bamboo is made of 100% solid moso bamboo. It selects high quality moso bamboo that over 5 years old as the raw material, splitting the bamboo strip into bamboo fibers, through high temperature carbonization to kill and remove the worm eggs, fungus, sugar and nutrient, and then compressed under intense heat pressing (up to 2700tons) to achieve high durability and stability.

Strand woven bamboo benefit
Bamboo is a truly ecological and durable alternative for increasingly scarce tropical hardwood, and becoming the new favorite of the architects. Compared with traditional wood material, strand woven bamboo enjoys better performance below.
1. Environment Friendly
It takes 5 years for the bamboo to become useful material, with short cycle for renewal, and its utilization rate reaches to over 90%.
2. Impact Toughness
The density is as high as 1.2g/cm3,and the impact toughness more than 17320N. It enjoys high hardness, strong impact resistance and abrasion-proofing performance.
3. Hydrolytic Resistance
It has strong water absorption and anti-deformation, and its thickness swelling rate of water absorption is only 0.4% in 34 hours, which is far beyond the European standard ≤2.0%
4. Rot Resistance
Digesting and carbonization technology are used to remove starch and protein; it has high hardness and density, and has a great performance in mothproofing
5. Formaldehyde Emission
The emission of free formaldehyde is lower than 0.2mg/L, meets the green environmental standard of Europe and America, and is far lower than the national standard of ≤1.5%.
6. Natural Beauty
The texture of the bamboo after processing can be compared with high-end rosewood, and the texture can be customized.
